Exercise#1

For my Exercise#1, I chose Nagata-cho station which i transfer to Naboku-line to come to school everyday. I went there for observation on last Friday, January 19th.
First time, it was in the morning. I need to go to school so I didn't have enough time to observate people that much. All I can say is there was tons of people and the station was crowded. Second time It was around 8:00 p.m. there are not that many people at there. Maybe because it was Friday night. Most of Japanese people go out for drink after Friday's work. So the most rush hour for Friday night is before the last train. Between 10:30 to 11:30 there would be many many people in this station.
Nagata-cho station is one of the crowded station in Tokyo, because it located middle of city which has a lot of work place. So from my observation in Nagata-cho station, I can say 90% of people who use this station are business men and women. Japanese business men, they wear nice suits, wear ties, white shirts, and wear nice shoes. We easily can figure out Japanese business men named "Salary Man" (in Japanese). In Nagata-cho there are tons of Salary Man!
The most rush hour in Nagata-cho is around 8:00 to 9:00 in the morning. Between that time, there are full of people in this station. Everyone walk really fast to catch the train on time and be their work place on time. Nobody stop. Nobody talk. They just walk, walk, walk....run, run, run...on the way.

Some people get some sandwiches or drinks on the way to go to their work place. That small kiosk shop located side of sidewalk in station. I think whose people get out home little bit early and they have enough time to go to their work place. Except those kind of people, nobody will stop in that station in the morning.

On Saturday and Sunday, I went there again to do my obsevation. As you can see from this picture, there are not many people, because most of people off from thier work on Saturday and Sunday. Nagata-cho station does not have the confused murmuring of people's voices. On week day we even cannot hear train's sounds, because of sounds of footsteps and people's voices. Nagata-cho station is quiet on weekends.

If I have chance to take picture of rush hour in the morning, I will put them on blog. And I think it is impossible to interview some Salary Man in the morning, but I think it will be awsome to have interview them...I will try...
